At Ushvii, we believe in reviving India’s rich textile traditions through modern silhouettes and sustainable craftsmanship. One such art form close to our heart is Shibori — a centuries-old Indian resist-dyeing technique known for its organic patterns and soulful textures.
Often traced back to Rajasthan and Gujarat, Shibori involves intricate folding, stitching, twisting, and binding of fabric before dyeing it by hand. The result is a mesmerizing interplay of color and pattern — no two pieces ever the same. While the word Shibori is of Japanese origin, India has long practiced its own versions, known as Bandhani, Leheriya, and Indian Shibori, passed down through artisan communities over generations.
