Every chaap (block) tells a story — of time, of earth, of hands that know the pattern by heart. It can take up to 16 stages and many days to complete one Ajrakh.

The fabric is first soaked, treated with natural mordants, and then patiently hand-printed with wooden blocks carved to perfection. Each layer of printing is followed by dyeing in natural colors like indigo, madder, and iron. The process of resist-dyeing — where areas are carefully protected with lime, gum, or clay before dyeing — creates Ajrakh’s signature symmetry of stars, flowers, and geometric rhythm.
At Ushvii, we celebrate this heritage by giving it a contemporary voice. The Ajrakh Edit is our ode to timeless craftsmanship — handwoven fabrics, natural textures, and soulful precision for women who walk between tradition and today.

Each saree is not just printed, but composed — chaap by chaap, layer by layer, until it becomes a living textile, shaped by the hands and stories that created it.
Ajrakh isn’t just worn. It’s inherited.
A whisper from the past, wrapped around the now.
“Ajrakh: Chaap mein basi kahani — not just a print, a legacy unfolding.”
