Some crafts are born from patience — tied, folded, and dyed by hand, each step a quiet meditation. Shibori is one such art. While the word Shibori is of Japanese origin, India has long practiced its own versions — known as Bandhani, Leheriya, and Indian Shibori — passed down through artisan communities over generations..

Often traced back to Rajasthan and Gujarat, Shibori involves intricate folding, stitching, twisting, and binding of fabric before dyeing it by hand. The result is a mesmerizing interplay of color and pattern — no two pieces ever the same.
At Ushvii, we’ve reimagined Shibori through an Indian lens — merging handcrafted silhouettes with soulful textures and natural dyes. Each saree tells a different story, shaped by the hands that bind it and the rhythm of the dye that seeps through.
Our artisans use traditional methods — binding, pleating, twisting — to create one-of-a-kind patterns that feel both earthy and elevated. Whether it’s waves, ripples, or bursts of color, the design unfolds only in the moment of untying — a reminder that beauty often lies in surrender.
The Ushvii Shibori Edit is soft, lightweight, and deeply expressive — made for women who embrace tradition, but live in movement. It's a craft of emotion. Fabric as poetry.
“Not just dyed. Designed by time, touched by soul.”
