Wash-Care Guide for Kalamkari Sarees

Wash: Hand-wash gently in cold water using a mild, pH-neutral detergent to preserve the intricate hand-painted or block-printed designs. Avoid rubbing or wringing, as it may damage the delicate artwork and cause colors to run.

Dry: Always air-dry in shade to maintain the vibrancy of the natural dyes used in Kalamkari. Keep away from harsh sunlight, which can fade the earthy tones and intricate motifs over time.

Dry Clean: Recommended for sarees with heavy painting, detailed motifs, or frequent wear, as professional care ensures the artwork and fabric remain intact.

Iron: Use low to medium heat on the reverse side. Place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and saree to protect the natural dyes and painted surfaces.

Store: Fold with tissue paper to avoid creases on motifs, and store in breathable cotton bags. Air out occasionally to keep the fabric fresh and prevent moisture damage.
